Finally a cordless vacuum designed specifically for the cleaning needs of barefloors. The Dyson Omni-glide is ideal for vacuuming all hardfloor (i.e. non-carpeted) surfaces including hardwood, tile, laminate, and vinyl flooring within the home. This can be used alongside a traditional vacuum which is reserved for areas with carpeting and rugs, or in homes where no carpeting is present.
The Omni-directional cleanerhead uses 4 caster wheels and an articulating neck to effortlessly manoeuvre in all directions – forward, backwards, and side to side. With the dual counter-rotating soft brush bars which force debris into the collection path (and look similar to what’s found on the Dyson Fluffy tool) the Omni-Glide maintains contact with the floor surface to clean in all positions. Built into the soft rollers are carbon fibre filament bristles which help to remove static from floor surfaces and remove fine dust.
For above floor cleaning the Omni-Glide can be transformed into a handheld vacuum. The included combination crevice and dusting brush can be used for spot cleaning around the home or attached to the end of the wand for cleaning high or hard to reach areas. With the lay flat designed the Omni-glide can reach under low furniture like TV stands and coffee tables. Weighing only 4.19 pounds the Dyson Omni-glide is the lightest weight Dyson cordless vacuum available, and with a 20.7cm cleaning path the Omnidirectional cleanerhead can maneuver into tight spaces and around objects. After flooring has been vacuumed easily empty the dirt collection bin with the hygienic dirt ejector which drives the debris out of the bin and into the garbage.
Dyson’s new Hyperdymium digital motors spin up to 105,000 rpm to create powerful suction to effectively clean hardfloor surfaces. Powering the motor is a fade free lithium-ion battery that provides up to 20 minutes of run time when using the vacuum in the handheld setting, or 18 minutes with the Omnidirectional cleanerhead. Lithium-ion battery technology not only provides more power and longer run times over other battery types, they also provide consistent performance. The suction strength will not decrease as the battery drains – expect full power right until the end! The Dyson Omni-Glide is fully recharged in 3.5 hours.
